Broken Promise

A dream remains forever
Unknown
Moments await in the future
Present.
Salty air stings passing wind
As the boat d r i f t s forward
Quiet. Steady.
A heavy mist floats
Over the mermaids kingdom
Towards the distant horizon
The young sailor sweats
Wet, like a broken fountain
Under the ferocious rays
Of the sky’s biggest star
The boy’s hat ripples as slow breezes whirl past
Focused on the spot
In the distance that is full of promises
And the echoes of the sea
Bounce off the aggressive waves
Thunders begin to shoot
Down heavens tears
Sea brings a nightmare
A jungle of lightning
Shines in the distance
And worries that stain the boy
Quickly turn into fright
When raging waters
Fill the rocking boat
And soon leave nothing but the sailors hat
And promises of reaching the horizon,
Broken.
