Competition

Competition is binary

You can

Win

Or you can

Lose

The choice is yours

The question isn’t

Do you want to win?

The question is

How much are you willing to pay?

Not even winners get out for free

When you win

It’s a pleasant feeling

Redemption

You spent all your time working

Preparation

Hours of dedication

You could be flunking classes,

A complete failure in every sense of the word except

At the end of the day you come out on top

But it’s not enough, is it?

It only partially satiates your hunger

You need more, need to win more

You’re never fully satisfied

Is it worth it?

How much are you willing to pay?

Not even winners get out for free

Or you can lose

It’s an awful feeling

Like the world is ending

The sky comes crashing down

And then it hits you

You’re a

Failure

No matter how much effort you put in

You’re just not good enough

All the time spent working

Preparation

Hours of dedication

Flunking classes

Only to end up losing

Was it worth it?

How much are you willing to pay?

Not even winners get out for free
