Life in a Bottle

moisture
collecting
in a water bottle.
streaks of transparent liquid
gloss over the smooth surface.
amorphous blobs of water
glued to the side.
unwavering,
stationary,
until you blink,
and the water has vanished.
evaporated,
soaked up,
by the sun.
like a person who has departed.
beyond this world,
this vast universe.
just a speck,
amongst billions of others.
never to be seen again.
