Imagination

Welcome to my world,
My latest creation.
The key to entering
Is through imagination.
Fly to a paradise
On a magic carpet ride.
Stretch out your arms
And reach toward the sky,
Which is now raining shoelaces
Quickly turned to snakes.
Turns out flying
Was a silly mistake.
Maybe you should try
A deep ocean route,
Accompanied by mermaids
And a man with one scraggly old boot.
Who is really a pirate
Searching for treasure,
And traveling with him
Is certainly no pleasure.
So you head to the land
Climb upon a dinosaur,
Who stops to take you to tea
At a huge general store.
Where you run into a man
Looking suspiciously like prince charming.
Really the resemblance
Is almost alarming.
All of a sudden
A gurgle, a groan
Rips through the room
Sending Charming running home.
After a few minutes
Of uncertain hesitation
Your journey comes to a halt
With a simple realization
That your stomach is the source
Of these frightening sounds.
So you pack up your bags
And head deep into town,
Catching a train
To Reality, MA.
Already planning your next adventure
The next time you stray.
