Abbey Brainard

Have I told you lately

Not a day goes by that I do not think of you.

This was so very sudden for me.

I cherish our times-there is not one that I would undo.

You meant more to me than you knew, you see.

The slow visits were never a bore,

same routine each time at four.

Your daughter and I would sneak your nip in,

sneaking past Mrs. Grinch was easier than I had thought it had been.

His charm and wisdom changed me.

There is someone like that in your life too.

Find that person expeditiously,

And ask them: “Have I told you lately that I love you?”
