Insincerely Kind

I remember every word of our phone calls,
Those sweet texts I can recall.
To you, it didn’t matter.
Only simple chatter

I met your mother a warm fall day,
Her “Hello, sweetheart,” still replays.
You have her sky blue eyes,
But hers are not filled with lies

You told me you cared,
About everything we shared.
I regret every word I said,
It is now crossed out in red

The damage is done
I surrender. You've won.
Only memories remain,
They are a permanent stain

With you finally gone,
It is time to move on.
Don’t treat anyone else this way,
Put your manipulative games away.
