Maria Ivanenko Mahalo, Hau’oliHappiness can come in many ways,
Such as a surprise vacation or a small hug.
But the best form of happiness
Takes on a shape with four strings with endless possibilities.
With smooth, rounded edges,
Made from flamed koa wood,
You may think it’s a mini-guitar at first sight,
But you are deeply wrong.
The happiness comes from
Stringing together notes or
Creating dotted rhythms,
All steming from the original “My dog has fleas”.
From James Hill to the young kid down the street,
From flamenco to modern pop.
Anything is possible
On the most adorable instrument yet.
My Kamaka ‘ukulele.
