| Meredith Galvin Thunderstorm
Planes overhead crash, bombs flash. Bullets fall from the sky.

Violet streaks, blackness falls, the sun whispers good-bye.

Bare feet on sharp rocks pound, shaken and scared but I can’t voice a sound.

Home approaches, a place to hide, while the chaos remains outside.

My door slams, the shutters shake, with shivering panting breath,

Ominous silence, knees quake, caught by sudden death.
