Who To Be

Seems so fast how we’ve grown up,
Since the days of dolls and sippy cups.
Now it’s time and, you’ve moved on,
But before you are completely gone.
I must warn you keep in mind,
A bond like ours is hard to find.

Rollerblading down the street
Playing in sand, the summer heat.
Watching our favorite show,
I never wanted you to go.
Wearing all your hand-me-downs.
Voyaging through country towns.

For all the love you’ve thrown my way,
Each kiss, each hug, most every day.
For your constant faith and pride,
Through our lives, a wild ride.
For all the times you stood by me,
And didn’t tell me who to be.
