Ode to Clouds

Why are you up there? Oh so very tall

In the sky. I say, you look lazy up there.

Without purpose but to let your tears fall,

Fluffy and light like a marshmallow hare.

How calm you are on a cool, windy day

Seemingly moving, but it’s Earth’s toil,

Shielding us from the harmful sun’s rays.

Up there in your own independent way

Not solitary, but never a smile

Working without trying, you earn my praise.
