Message of the Waves

Waves crash on the shore,
White caps foam over
The ocean breathing,
Stirring from an ancient slumber
To remind all of us
That we’ve lost our meaning.

Like the tide we keep crashing,
Keep repeating our mistakes.
We move forward,
But always back again
To the origins.

Life is monotonous.
The ocean flat,
A plane of unchanging azure
Devoid of any emotion.

But monotony is not,
Not always hopeless.
There is comfort
In the briny smell,
Wafting from limitless blue,
In knowing the next step.
In knowing the future.
In knowing the tide will rebound,
The ebb and flow
Of eternal life.
