From the Eyes of a Five Year Old

When I was five I thought I ruled the school.

Preschool.

We had our own building

Separated from the babies.

It was filled with big kid toys,

Like legos,

And watercolors,

And dress up clothes.

The babies couldn’t play with our toys.

Finally,

After waiting my whole life.

I was a big kid.

I could use scissors during arts and crafts.

I could go down the fire pole all by myself.

I could use the potty with no one watching.

We were on top.

Invincible.

At least until kindergarten started.

Those fifth graders were HUGE!
