Fall Feelings

The temperature has dropped
and the bugs are gone.
Look how the unraked leaves
paint the ground.
Take a minute to stand still
To notice
a certain smell in the air
that can only be tasted during fall.

The trees that provided thick shade in summer
suddenly appear fragile.
All humidity is gone,
leaving crisp, cool air;
a refreshing wake up.
The colored leaves come alive
dancing at our feet.

And you were almost too busy to take time out of your schedule,
to wonder at the new season's quiet entrance.
