The Milky Way

The white,
         sticky ocean
     flowed over
  the counter,
         a raging river
                     and a deathly
                                waterfall.
                                The tipped cup
                                       remained idle
                                   releasing
                    its creamy contents
              Uncontrolled.

I was frozen,
a statue,
unable to stop the steady stream
from making a lake on our carpet.

I am sorry.
I should have reacted,
Created a dam full of napkins.
But instead my eyes glazed over
and my muscles remained immobile.

I am sorry for that time I spilled my milk
and simply stood in awe of what I had created.
